I rode Winterberg on a damp Saturday in May. The base area is easy to find, the uplift queue moved fast once the lift opened, and the lower flow lines were grippy even in the wet.
What stood out
The jump lines build progression nicely — there’s a genuinely beginner-friendly flow run that shares a start gate with the bigger stuff, so a mixed-ability group can lap together and regroup at the bottom. The steeper, rootier sections lower down get properly technical when it’s wet.
Tips
- Buy the lift ticket online to skip the window queue on busy weekends.
- The bike wash by the base station is free — bring a rag.
- Coffee at the base café is better than it has any right to be.
